In the vicinity of the hermitage of San Ramón de Bealo is the setting of more than a dozen rock engravings, of which the most known are A Pedra da Serpe and A Laxe do Agüeiro. Pedra da Serpe alludes to a curved and sinuous line that has been interpreted as ophidian, considered by some cultures as evil animals, and in others as an animal benefactor, propitiator of health and even protector in case of war. Normally it is attributed a cyclical character and immortality because it's skin signifying the rebirth; Presenting a certain parallelism with other myths of pre-agricultural societies to the cycles of the moon. The lunar rhythms always mark a creation, new moon, followed by a growth (full moon) and a decrement and death, that after three nights without moon it resurfaces again; Which gives it a cyclical character at the time (death and permanent resurrection). Accompanying this sinuous representation, the serpent, which is the easy to see at any moment of the day, possibly a result of the continuous remarking of the representation, inheritance of the last times; We find about forty crosses, some inserted in circles, as well as other winding strokes. The crosses are possibly the installation of Christ as protector of crops and animals or the Christianization of certain pagan rites.
