If there is a magical night throughout the year, that is San Juan. Since the earliest times, and always coinciding with the celebration of the summer solstice, the night of San Juan has been celebrated in our land. A night that already enjoys a tradition very ingrained and that acquires connotations and very special characteristics that turn it into a magical night.
St. John is the night of fire; The bonfires; Of that water that revives the healing properties of holy and miraculous sources; Of the nine waves of the sea that purify and fertilize; Of the dew; Of the "meigas" ... "well there are witches!!!"
You will find bonfires on our areas beaches and in any corner of our town. Around it, groups of friends and families gather that sing and dance until dawn. You will not miss the sardines and the cachelos (roasted potatoes). Also jump over the fire, thus frightening witches and purifying our bodies and souls.
